If you haven’t heard, WordPress version 2.6 was released this month, nearly a month ahead of its projected release date. It has loads of new features that can help you, and your blogging staff, to blog better, faster, and more conveniently. Some of the exciting features include: a theme preview. No longer do you have to change the theme completely in order to try something out. This is a huge bonus for bloggers who aren’t quite sure how different layouts and such will affect the overall layout, look, and feel. And, obviously, it’s far less disruptive to any blog readers who may be checking out the site—imagine refreshing the page and finding the blog you’re trying to read changing its look three times in 10 minutes! There’s also a great new feature that will help bloggers capture those impulsive, inspired blogging moments while they’re surfing the web—the PressThis! feature. Inspired by other favorite sites of WordPress developers, this plugin button can be added to your toolbar and lets popup blogging happen anytime, anywhere on the web. This is great for getting more blogs posted daily, since there’s far less switching between windows and losing valuable inspiration due to desktop dynamics. The WordPress blog (http://wordpress.org/development/2008/07/wordpress-26-tyner/) also has a great three and a half minute video you can plug into your own blog for your blogging staff to check out. Happy blogging!
If you are in the market for Web Design in Edinburgh, Scotland, there are quite a few options available to you.
But there are certain things you need to look out for, before you select your company – you don’t want to sign up to a contract and then find out that it is not all you need or want. For example, what is their after sales service like? Do they have a phone line you can ring and if so, what are their hours? If you choose a company in another country and you’re working when they’re asleep it’s of no use to you. You can’t exactly call them – they’ll hardly answer the phone at 3am their time. Then again, if you select a company that does web design in Edinburgh and you yourself are there as well, you’ll want to make sure their after sales service is available when you need it to be. What is their turnaround time for queries? Does it cost extra? Or is the cost built into the original quote?
After sales service is of paramount importance when you’re running a company that relies on your website. If you need something done and it is not fixed in a decent time frame it could affect your business. So make sure you read the fine print in regards to after sales service!
